As the closing act of the Phoenix Pageant, Jack Capobianco and Olivia Helfen come out in green and pink inflatable sumo suits. They danced to “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction. The projector was displaying the “Just Dance” choreography on a screen behind them.
Pre-performance:
Q: How are you preparing for your performance?
OH: We are rehearsing, practicing after school, and texting about what’s going on.
Q: How did you decide your act?
JC: We had a lot of ideas [but] it wasn’t until probably 3-4 days before the pageant [that we decided]. Olivia’s brother had two of the costumes from halloween and she said it would be so funny if we just danced to a song with these costumes.
Post-performance:
Q: How do you feel about your performance?
OH: We feel good; it was really fun to go up there and perform it. We are sad we didn’t win, but ultimately we did just go to have fun, so we are both really proud that people enjoyed it.
