On Tuesday June 10, dozens of seniors gathered in the main hallway for the Capstone Gala, where they presented and showcased their work and experience during their Capstone internships. For their Capstone internships, students were required to find their own professional sponsor in a field of interest. The minimum requirement was to work 50 hours under a professional adult, not family members. Students interned in several fields, including marketing, healthcare, engineering, finance and nonprofit organizations.
After the Capstone Gala, scores of seniors gathered in the auditorium for an end-of-year awards ceremony. The ceremony celebrated the achievements of seniors in academics, sports, community service and many more. A total of 126 awards were presented during the event. Some of the awards handed out throughout the evening included academic awards, community service awards, athlete awards, the seal of biliteracy and departmental awards. Tiziana Marchante, Rock Ridge’s Career Center Assistant, organized this event for seniors.
The ceremony also held many guest appearances for honoring seniors. As the ceremony came to an end, seniors and their parents said their final goodbyes in the library with cake and refreshments.
