After weeks of late-night rehearsals and in-class practices, the Rock Ridge Sings program performed their final show of the year on May 26. With performances by each choir, and a final performance including all five choirs — Cantus Avem, Voces Virilis, Rockapella, Vox Femina, and the Chamber Choir — and alumni, the chorus sung their final note.

“It’s bittersweet,” senior Maggie Cantwell said about her final concert. Cantwell has been a part of Rock Ridge Sings since she was a freshman. This concert was the final performance  for the seniors graduating this year. A special ceremony was held before the final song, where choir director Jordan Markwood gifted each senior a tuning fork.

“[I’m] a little sad,” senior Maddie Kesler said about leaving the chorus program.  “I am glad that I’ll get to come back and watch my friends perform next year, but it’s sad knowing I won’t be able to perform with the same group of people again.” Many seniors got emotional during this last concert as their time at ‘RR Sings’ is slowly coming to an end. “I was excited, it’s my last concert and I just wanted to have fun,” Kesler said.

Songs performed included pop and rock hits such as “Man in the Mirror,” “I Will Survive,” and “Dancing Queen,” while other songs were softer ballads, such as “Run to You” and “In My Life.”
