For number five, we have Colombian superstar, Karol G. Real name being Carolina Giraldo Navarro, Karol G was one of the most influential artists of the year. Her hit album, “MANANA SERA BONITO,” released in 2023, was a huge favorite for many listeners worldwide, with hit songs like “PROVENZA” passing over a  billion streams. This song has more of a chill, tropical vibe, and talks about how to enjoy life and let go of all the drama in your life.“TQG” is also a great album, with 1.8 billion streams worldwide. This song isn’t as chill, but still has the Reggaeton beat, and features another well known artist, Shakira. It talks more about moving on after heartbreak, which is meaningful to many listeners around the world.  Finally, “AMARGURA” was another hit, with 899.9 million streams. Again, it has the well-known beat, and also talks about heartbreak, with more emotional lyrics about her feelings.

Later, in November 2024, she released a hit song with her boyfriend Feid and many other artists, called “+57”. This song talks more about how some people’s life goes in Colombia, like going to clubs, hanging with friends, and more. She also released a massive song earlier this year in June, called “Si Antes Hubiera Conocido,” with now almost reaching a billion streams on Spotify, at 872.9 million. In this song, she talks about how it would’ve been if she met someone earlier, and the pain of missed opportunities in love, and it is a perfect beach/summer song. Her ability to mix flows and sing seals her spot on this list.

Now, from South America, we move to Central America, to Puerto Rican artist Rauw Alejandro. Raúl Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz comes in fourth, after having an amazing year. Coming off his outstanding year in 2023, he deserves this spot. In 2023, he released his album “PLAYA SATURNO,” with songs like “DILUVIO” (451.4 million). This song talks about love and his feelings for a woman. It also had songs like “HOY AQUI” (45.5 million), and “PONTE NASTY” (23.9 million), all being fan favorites. However, this year, just recently, in November, he released another album called “Cosa Nuestra.” He collaborated with huge artists such as Romeo Santos and Bad Bunny. This album featured hits like “Que Pasaria…” (170.5 million). This song has more emotional lyrics about missing love, really focusing on the pain of “what if” moments in love. It’s a mix of relaxed, but also great music for dancing. It also had the song “Khe?” at 111.1 million streams, and it talks about confusing moments in a relationship, or even a situationship. This song is much more relaxed than the other, and is great for slow dancing. His creativity with lyrics and flow is what got him into this top 5.

Now back to South America, we now jump to Chile, as FloyyMenor had a year many artists would consider their best. Alan Felipe Galleguillos became very big this year, after releasing “Gata Only,” with Cris MJ, which got well over a billion streams, at 1.3 billion streams. This song is a catchy and fun beat, and the lyrics show a lot of flirting and confidence. In May, he released his hit single, “APAGA EL CEL.” which has 241.7 million streams on Spotify. This song has a similar beat to the other, and talks much about the same type of flirting, and has a very alike flow. This wasn’t his only hit, as in July, he released “PELIGROSA,” with 303.6 million streams. He released “Después De La 1,” with Cris MJ, which has 192.2 million streams. These are only some of the songs he released, and he will 100% be one of the bigger artists in the coming years.

Staying in Chile, we have Cris MJ, having an outstanding year. Full name being Christopher Andrés Álvarez García, Cris MJ had arguably no misses this year in the songs he dropped. He released a lot of music with his friend FloyyMenor. In 2022, Cris MJ released his massive single, “Una Noche en Medellín,” reaching almost a billion streams, with 937.1 million. This song has a more upbeat and fun vibe, and captures the energy of a night out in the city. The lyrics are catchy, as well as playful. Then, in 2023, he released his album, “Partyson,” including many hits like “Daytona” (238.4 million), “Ponte Bonita” (44.2 million), and many more. In 2024, he released massive hit song “Gata Only,” with Floyymenor, which reached well over a billion streams, at 1.3 billion streams on Spotify, making it one of the songs of the year. He also released “No Ponga Excusas” (141 million), “Después De La 1,” at 192 million. Earlier in 2024, he also released “SI NO ES CONTIGO,” which is at 399.1 million. This song is a little more chill and relaxed than the others, and the lyrics talk about how he only wants one girl, and doesn’t want anything if it’s not with her. With these songs, he also made remixes with other artists like Kali Uchis and JHAYCO, which makes Cris MJ one of the biggest artists of 2024.

For number one, we have Benito Antonio Martinez Ocasión, professionally known as “Bad Bunny.” Over the years, Bad Bunny has released many hit songs, albums, etc, which places him as one of the best artists in general of all time. The Puerto Rican star released a hit single, “DAKITI,” with other artist JHAYCO, in 2020, which got over 2 billion streams. In 2022, he released his most popular album yet, “Un Verano Sin Ti,” which included hits like “Titi Me Pregunto” (1.6 billion), “Me Porto Bonito” (1.9 billion), and more. Both these songs have a similar beat, flow, and are perfect when you’re in a good mood and during summer. With the album having over 16 billion streams, it’s the album with the most streams in Spotify history. Although being released over two years ago, the album is still huge to this day. In late 2023, he released another album named “nadie sabe lo que a pasar manana,” with songs like “MONACO” (569.2 million). His biggest and most popular song was “PERRO NEGRO,” reaching almost a billion streams, with 966.4 million. This song also has the well recognized beat, but isn’t too much of a song to relax to. The lyrics are more aggressive and unapologetic, which shows off his distinctive style of music. He also featured in songs like “Que Pasaría…,” which were talked about before in this article. Most recently, in December 2024, he released his single, “EL CLuB,” now at 73.6 million. Because of his longevity and consistency, he remains the best Latin artist in the world for many more years to come.
