Matthew Dunlap

Question: What classes are you teaching this year? 

Matthew Dunlap: Intermediate, Advanced, and Artist Guitar. 

Q: How long have you been teaching and, if applicable, where else have you taught? 

MD: I have been teaching for 16 years. I have taught at Tuscarora High School, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Florida State University, and Troy State University.

Q: What are you most excited about for this year? 

MD: Teaching in-person! I am really looking forward to making music again in-person!

Q: What do you like most about teaching? 

MD: I love working with a group of students towards a performance goal. Playing live and seeing students learn and grow during the experience is priceless. 

Q: What are some of your interests? 

MD: All things guitar related, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and off-roading.

Q: Do you have a fun fact about yourself that you would like to share? 

MD: I love traveling and I’m always open to planning school field trips.

Q: Is there anything else you would like your students to know about you? 

MD: I love making music. I will always be available to play guitar with you whether it is for extra help or just for the sake of making music.
