“If you need help, you can walk up to anyone — seniors and juniors especially — and say ‘Hey, can you help me with this dance move?’ or ‘How [do I] sing this part or [say] a line or how to say these words in the script?’ They’ll definitely help you … [Musical theater] is different from other art forms because it’s like all of them together. You need the ability to express yourself outwardly, through your face and movements … Theater is something that a lot of people look down upon. I have no idea why, but once you’re a part of it, you feel this sort of freedom through all the people that surround you. It lifts your spirits higher than if you were to just watch the play. To be part of it is a different experience altogether because you grow as a person while your growing with all the people around you.”
