Azciel Goodhart, Staff Writer
Azciel Goodhart is a junior this year and a returning staff member of The Blaze. Azciel loves the community in journalism and the good vibes of the program. She decided to join Newspaper because she loved the teacher and heard lots of positive things about the class. Some of Azciel’s goals as a journalist are to be more timely with uploading stories and sharing more of her opinions. In her free time, she loves to work with the Red Cross Club, Girls Who Code Club, and Urban Planning Club. Azciel’s favorite things to do after school consist of playing video games, studying oceanography, and learning new languages. Azciel is also a member of the varsity swim team and varsity crew team at Rock Ridge. She has been a part of both teams since her freshman year and enjoys the competitiveness.
Aline Gonzalez
Aline Gonzalez, Multimedia Editor
Aline Gonzalez is a senior and the Multimedia Editor for The Blaze. This is her fourth year on staff, and her passion for journalism started in third grade after joining her elementary paper. On the staff, she enjoys writing impactful opinion pieces to give a wider perspective on various topics. One of her proudest accomplishments was writing a piece on pronouns and the way schools use them now. Her goal in newspaper this year is to fulfill her editor position by having a video or podcast up every month. In the future, Aline wants to pursue law and criminology, as well as eventually go into journalism. She plans on joining the Mock Trial club at Rock Ridge this year to fuel her passion for law as well as the Hispanic Latinx club to connect with her heritage. Her other hobbies include reading, pet-sitting animals, and staying active by going to the gym.
Lucinda Eskandar
Lucinda Eskandar, Staff Writer
Sophomore Lucinda Eskandar is a second-year staff writer on the Blaze. She joined journalism again this year because she enjoys the collaborative aspect as well as the freedom to write about what she likes. Her favorite stories to write are opinion and A&E, because she enjoys voicing her opinion. This year, she plans to join a public speaking extracurricular like debate club and mock trial because she wants to pursue a job in law in the future. She plans to join gymnastics for the second year and tennis. Outside of school, she enjoys going for walks, listening to music, and playing Roblox. This year, she wants to focus on more hard news stories and try new story formats like videos and podcasts. Lucinda is looking forward to improving her writing skills and writing about what she loves this year.
