Junior Dylan Neach prepares to run throwing drills with his teammate. Having fallen in love with the sport when he was five, Neach tried out this season for a centerfield position. “It was pretty easy,” Neach said. “I was injured though, so that was kind of painful. But it wasn’t bad. We did a lot of fundamentals, and we did some hitting and base running.”

Junior Emily Spielman runs towards home base during passing and catching drills. Softball was one of those sports that just clicked with her, which led her to the Rock Ridge team her freshman year. “Overall, I’m excited for this year,” Spielman said. “[Since my freshman year], we haven’t had many [who stuck with the sport], but with those who did, you can really see how they grew over time. And we have new freshmen coming in who have played the sport before. That’ll be that extra support we need to really see all these players shine and to finally have a really solid team this year.”
